Celebrating the Global Fund for 20 years of life saving work

On 27th August 2021, the African Constituency Bureau attended the passing of the torch caravan from Ethiopia to Tanzania organized by Global Fund Advocacy Network (GFAN), ending a week of activities to celebrate the 20th anniversary of GF in Ethiopia. Over the 20-year period, since its inception, the Global Fund partnership has saved 38 million lives and this was the greatest opportunity to reflect on the past 20 years of unfailing support to African Countries such as Ethiopia.

Addressing Future Pandemic Threats Affecting HIV, TB, Malaria Programs: Pandemic Preparedness and Response

This interactive session held on 27 July 2021, saw subject experts, including participants from African Risk Capacity (ARC), WHO/AFRO, Ministry of Health of Kenya and ACB board members sharing their insights on priority areas to strengthen PPR in the continent. Key lessons learnt in the implementation of the COVID-19 Strategic Preparedness and Response in African Constituencies[2] as well as policy recommendations for the Global Fund were discussed.
